It is true that there is no cure for the common cold and that the congestion that is accompanied with the season changes are only made better by over the counter the medications that leave you with medicine head. There are several natural ways of lessening the effects of these ailments.
I was in the coldest of winters in Massachusetts when I developed a horrible cold that was making its way into my chest and lungs. The pain was incredible and then a little old lady that had raised half a dozen kids put me on her couch. She then started making a mixture that I have repeated many times over. The mixture not only made me feel better but I was good as new within 72 hours it is very simple and I am glad to pass this on to any others that might be able to use this miracle cure.
1. Take a whole onion and chop it up into small pieces. 1×1 chunks will work out ok.
2. Put the onion into a simmering pot.
3. Cover the onion with one cup of sugar.
4. Simmer on low stirring occasionally until the juices from the onion have all left the skins.
5. Strain off the skins until you have a yellowish white syrup.
6. Take this syrup in one tablespoon increments until you start to feel better.
I’m not sure that this will work for everybody but when your sick you are willing to try anything and this is a method that will allow you to feel better without the medicine head that is often part of the cold and flu season. The other thing that is so important to remember is that most of your bodies heat leaves through your head even in the house when you have a cold it is wise to wear a hat of some kind to keep the warmth that is important in making you better. Hands and feet also are important to keep warm. If your head, hands and feet are warm you are going to feel better and can concentrate on mending the body.
